Our Company Story

Dirt Designs is owned and operated by Dean and Duane Johnston. Based in Thornton, NH, it was established in 1986. Dirt Designs primarily works on residential homes and specializes in excavation, house lots, hardscaping, septic installations, road and trail construction, and bridge building. In addition to these services, they work closely with the Central New Hampshire Snowmobile Club to maintain trails. Dean and Duane began their business with only an '87 Case Backhoe, but have since expanded their fleet to include multiple Caterpillar excavators, a Volvo dump truck, a Ford dump truck, a Western Star dump truck, a John Deere skidder and more. Additionally, they host the annual Antique Groomer and Model A/T Snowmobile show each February bringing people together from all around the world.
